About The Barn
Ryders up
At Ryders Up Farm, our core values center around inclusion, acceptance, education, and fun. We believe in fostering a supportive community where members uplift one another through encouragement, thoughtful guidance, and patient, empathetic teaching. We celebrate individuality and respect each person’s unique journey. Our farm offers full boarding services, dry stalling, and specializes in hunter-jumper training with our own private coach. Our goal is to inspire curiosity, growth, and a spirit of collaboration—encouraging every rider, teacher, and student to challenge themselves and become not only skilled equestrians but also compassionate advocates for animals.

Our History
The old Ryder Brook horse farm, which was established in the mid-1970’s, is a beloved place to many in the Stowe and Morrisville communities who share in its history. Originally planned as a riding and hunt club community to include 27 2-acre residential lots, the property has been mostly kept as a riding stable with open horse pasture. A few smaller parcels have been subdivided and sold off over the years, but the majority of the original farm has remained intact.

Terry Meis
Terry Meis discovered a deep love for horseback riding just two years ago, but horses have always been a part of her life. With a family background deeply connected to the world of Thoroughbreds, her passion for these incredible animals runs deep. Before founding Ryders Up Farm, Terry established a retirement home for senior horses at her home in Stowe, Vermont, providing a peaceful haven for equine companions in their golden years.
After taking a few lessons with Becca, Terry was instantly hooked on riding and knew she wanted to create a space where others could experience the same joy, connection, and personal growth that horses bring. Her vision for Ryders Up Farm is centered around fostering a welcoming, supportive, and vibrant community where riders of all levels can develop their skills, build confidence, and share in the love of horsemanship. Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned competitor, Terry is committed to making Ryders Up Farm a place where both horses and riders thrive.
